I was thinking about us

And how we fell apart,

So sudden like rainstorms grey and blue

I got sick from the rain that week.

They say "daisies are for new beginnings".

But you'll still find the bracelet you gifted me clasped around my arm.

I miss you when evening comes and when the sun glows in my favourite colour I wish it could shine upon us.

But we don't share words no more,

We don't sit on swings or talk about our existence and it's whereabouts.

Yet I hope it's the best this way.

Don't give up on writing,

I'd like to be proud of who you've become.

I felt warm when I saw myself drawn on the page of your journal last month.

I drew you too,

And I'll do so until the pencil shrivels away,

Maybe then I'll stop searching for you everywhere I go.
